Happy Holidays from Interim Homes–Washington, D.C. Events

Our Nation’s Capital is sure to delight corporate guests of Interim Homes this time of year. From villages made entirely out of ice to giant Christmas trees, Interim Homes wants to give its guests an inside look into the great events to be enjoyed in and around Washington, D.C..

ICE! will be coming to the Gaylord National Resort in the National Harbor on November 15th. ICE! will be reproducing the American classic, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, made entirely out of, you guessed it, ice! Don’t let the indoor venue fool you, as you will need a coat, hat and gloves to fully enjoy this spectacle which features giant, hand-carved sculptures and even a two-story-tall slide. You will also be able to experience the lights, sights, and sounds of New York City in an interactive display put on by ICE! that is all new this year! In the mood to hang out with some cute critters? At ZooLights, you have your choice of animals, real-life or LED versions. With over a half-million LED lights, enjoy light displays and sculptures that dance to the music as you walk though the National Zoo. There will be plenty of food and warm beverages to be enjoyed as you take a train ride around the Great Cats exhibit, or as you take a picture in the holiday sleigh. If you are not staying in an Interim Homes location nearby, hop on the metro and stop at the Woodley Park station to grab a complimentary shuttle to the Zoo.

As we speak there is an 88-ft tall Christmas tree that is making its way to D.C. from Washington State. Once it arrives, it will be decorated to the nines and ultimately lit on December 6th. Keep your eyes peeled for stars once it arrives, as the lighting ceremony brings many celebrity guests and entertainers to see the magnificent tree. From its unveiling up until the New Year, it, along with the Pathway of Peace, will be lit from dusk until 11p.m.
